A founder member of the Birmingham Group of Artists-Craftsmen and a noted tempera artist, Gere made several study trips to Italy, often in the company of her half-brother the artist Charles Gere with whom she lived in Painswick, Gloucestershire. They were among the earliest members of the Cheltenham Group. This work was in the collection of Charles H St. John Hornby (1867-1946), founder of the Ashendene Press.
